You will write a 4 to 5 page (double-spaced, 1 inch margins, size twelve times font) analysis of a Case in Point from one of the chapters of our text. These are the requirements for the assignment: 1. You will pick/read a Case in Point from the textbook used for this class (not a case study). Pick one that interests you, intrigues you, and makes you say “oh, now that is interesting.” 2. You will further research the organization/issue/study described in the case to further your analysis. You will find at least three additional credible sources (credible sources for this assignment can include magazine and newspaper articles, organizational websites, other web-based sources, and interviews). You can also use peer reviewed journal articles if you wish. 3. You will identify the 2-3 most important takeaways of the case and explain why they are important lessons to learn. You will make 2-3 recommendations of how the takeaways you discovered in the case and your additional research could be used to improve communication in organizational contexts. You will explain why your recommendations will work (because they will, be confident in yourself). 4. Your paper should include an introduction in which you will introduce briefly what the case is about, and provide a preview statement. 5. The body of your paper should provide a summary of the case and a description of the 2- 3 most important themes/takeaways of the case and an argument for why those themes/takeaways are important. It should include your 2-3 recommendations for improving communication in organizational settings as well as your explanation for why your recommendations will work. 6. Your paper should include references to specific concepts or research findings you have learned from the text, lecture, discussion, and/or other class materials. 7. Your paper should include a section that discusses how what you have learned relates to your own experiences or how your case investigation will/can be used to influence your future actions (around half a page). 8. Conclude your paper with a short sum-up... 9. Not included in the page count of your paper should be a title page and a references page. These should be placed at the start and end of your paper, respectively. Note: Your references should follow APA formatting guidelines.
