Throughout the quarter, students will develop some original ideas of how to use theoretical concepts to analyze how media affects travel and tourism experiences. The final paper of the class will reflect these ideas. Students should come up with their own working “theory” that uses media examples (of the students’ choice) to apply concepts used in class. A proposal (1 page/200 words) will be due on Monday, May 16th, by email, and should include the initial idea and research plan for the paper. It will be worth 5% of the final grade. The instructor will reply by email with feedback. Students should bring their proposal and feedback to class on Wednesday, May 25th, for workshopping with classmates.
