The purpose of this final paper is to apply nutritional science and sound scientific reasoning to an analysis of a relevant nutrition-related topic. Consider a topic that is of interest to you that is relevant to nutritional science. As you conduct your research it will be important that you consider the sources of your information and whether or not they are reliable and credible. There is a great deal of information on nutrition, some of it reliable, some of it unreliable or misleading; and while the internet is a wonderful resource for research, it contains a tremendous amount of questionable and/or unreliable information that sounds science-based but is not. Thus, it is very important you examine and establish the credibility of the research you use.  Length must be 4-6 double-spaced pages (NOT including the title and reference pages). A minimum of 3 scholarly references must be used for this paper. Use standard margins and 12 font, Times New Roman. Use the critical thinking and science-based writing skills we practice(d) throughout the term in this paper. Take time to carefully review the Final Paper Rubric which provides specific criteria that defines how your work will be graded. As you do that, keep in mind specific segments of the rubric address both the content and process elements of the paper, and it is important you cover the areas discussed. In other words, be sure that you carefully review and understand each rubric segment and that you address all areas as you write your final paper.  Final Research Paper Final Research Paper CriteriaRatingsPts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeLibrary Research-Are the articles scholarly? -Are the articles relevant and timely to the subject? -Are there a minimum of three scholarly articles and/or books assigned per the final paper guidelines? 20 ptsFull Marks 0 ptsNo Marks 20 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeContentAnalysis and relevance: Use of the research 55 ptsFull Marks 0 ptsNo Marks 55 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeFormat-Does the cover page include the student's name, assignment title, University Course Number, date, and professor's name? -Is the paper spacing, indent, fonts, and margins consistent with APA formatting? -Are the pages numbered? 5 ptsFull Marks 0 ptsNo Marks 5 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeAPA Formatting• Are all sources that are cited in this paper included in the reference list? • Are cites and sources properly formatted per APA? 10 ptsFull Marks 0 ptsNo Marks 10 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeStyle• Is the writing clear, grammatically and mechanically correct? • Are there smooth transitions between paragraphs and sections? • Are there misspelled words? • Are there improper sentence structures? • Are there punctuation errors? • Is the paper well organized and well crafted? • Is the paper compelling to read? 10 ptsFull Marks 0 ptsNo Marks 10 pts Total Points: 100
