ISBN: 978-08308285 MUST HAVE 4 REFERENCES Students will compose a case study analysis of the couple and family dynamics identified in a film of your choice. Select a movie/film that centers on a family or couple. You will conceptualize these identified dynamics through the lens of an integrated theoretical framework based on the couple and family counseling systems presented in class. This paper must be APA formatted. Include the following components: Introduction - to the film including the title and year of the film with a brief summary of the main plot. Citations from the film required. Identification of Family Members - Identify the family members and describe the characters you are focusing on, justify why they should be considered a couple/family, identify their apparent motivations and any key aspects of their personalities that contribute to both their growth and the conflicts experience by the family. Support your work and ideas with citations. Organization - Identify and describe the apparent structure of the family and the roles that members occupy, including any disparity between apparent and actual roles. Support your work and ideas with citations. Interactions - identify and describe important patterns of interactions you observe in your identified family, including apparent causes or purposes of the interactions (ie. avoiding blame, justifying excess, holding authority). Support your work and ideas with citations. Contextual Factors- identify social, gender-based, multicultural, or otherwise ecological factors influencing the family members. Support your work and ideas with citations. Theory Identification- describe the theory or theories you will use to conceptualize the dynamics represented in the film and identify the primary developers/theorists along with the working assumptions of the theory. Your textbook should be your primary source for theory/ies selection. Support your work and ideas with citations. Plan of Action- identify and describe changes you are hoping to address for this family/couple, select at least three techniques you would use with the family/couple represented in your film, emphasize the reason you selected the techniques, what issues or problems they will address based on your assessment, and finally the goal or outcome for the technique/s selected. Support your work and ideas with citations. Integration - Elaborate on how the Christian worldview informs your perspective on all of the above aspects. This may be woven into each section or addressed in a separate section. Include what biblical principles inform this case study. Conclusion - Brief overview of concepts and ideas shared in the body. References - List of all resources cited in the paper. Keep in mind that reference listings must match the citations used in the paper and likewise all citations used in the paper must be listed in this listing. The paper should be 10 – 15 pages. There should be 4 to 6 resources including the course text book as well as other books and articles. It must be APA 6th edition format. Use of Headings (level 1 and 2) will organize your work and help to ensure all of the criteria are met.
