“technical brief.”
When I say a technical brief, use the headers below in points (i)
through (iv) as the headers for your report.
Then make your discussion for each point about 2-3 paragraphs max in
length (single-spaced, no less than 12 pt font)
(i) (Discuss the importance of the topic.
Why is it important? How recently or how widespread has this become prevalent?
(ii) What is the underlying chemical or industrial process of the topic?
A chemical reaction will help to summarize your process, if one is applicable.
(iii) If there is a prevalent application for the topic or a prevalent reason that the topic occurs, discuss it here.
For instance, let’s say that you were to discuss rock salt and its effect on chemistry. What is a good use for it? Or, let’s say you were to discuss the banning of thalidomide. Why did it happen?
(iv) Is there something else that is being developed or has already been developed that is better? How or why? If not, explain why.
(v) Include at least one photo and additional reference other than your textbook that is relevant to the discussion at hand.
