Prompt:
Write a paper that summarizes the life and ideas of Cedric Robinson. Your paper should
answer the following question: How did Cedric Robinson’s life experiences inform the
development of his ideas? In other words, I would like you to describe the interconnected
nature of his personal upbringing/life experiences with the development of his overall
worldview that appears in his writings and which Joshua Myers summarizes for us in his
“intellectual biography” of Cedric Robinson. Draw on the biography, the guest lecture by
Joshua Myers, and your instructor’s lectures. In addition to summarizing Robinsons main
ideas, make an argument about what you think about Robinson’s ideas—do you agree with
them? Why/why not? A strong paper is analytical and not just descriptive. Do not bring in any additional material we have not discussed in class. Cite in-class sources only (guest lectures, instructor lectures, readings) using in text citation style, for example: (Author last name, page number).
