I will need an essay written about Helene Cixous's article "The Laugh of Medusa" and it will be answering this question: A. ‘And why don't you write? Write! Writing is for you, you are for you; your body is yours, take it. I know why you haven't written.’ (p. 876) What advice, or antidotes, for an author suffering from ‘writer’s block’ could you take from this essay? Which of Cixous’ ides or comments are most inspiring, if any? B. Write a scene that features Medusa or the mythical witch from these quotations: this could be in the form of prose fiction, poetry or script, and should convey your understanding of the critical issues in a creative way. ‘You only have to look at the Medusa straight on to see her. And she's not deadly. She's beautiful and she's laughing.’ (p.885) ‘Now women return from afar, from always: from ‘without,’ from the heath where witches are kept alive; from below, from beyond ‘culture’; (p. 877)
