For this discussion post, you will first watch part of the film "21 UP South Africa: Mandela's Children". This film is a documentary that details the lives of children living in South Africa who participated in a three-part series in which they were filmed at age 7, 14, and now 21. The film captures how each person's personality develops as they grow, the influences of education, family, friends, and culture on their development as well as how the social and political influence of living in South Africa impacts their life journey. Watch about 20-30 minutes of the documentary. It is okay to skip around in the film but please be sure to watch at least two different people's interviews to learn how they changed and grew over time between the ages of 7, 14, and 21. After watching the film, reflecting on the following questions (your response should be at least 200 words): Identify at least one individual in the film (e.g., Frans, Willem, Claudia, Thembisile, etc.) and share one way this person has stayed the same and one way this person has changed between the ages of 7, 14, and 21 (e.g., in personality, education, employment, attitudes). How does what surrounds us shape us. What clues do you see provided in the film (i.e., neighborhood, education, crime, unemployment, health, marriage, family, religion, etc.) of how context shapes development in the film. Provide two specific examples. Thinking about life paths/trajectories, are you the same person you were when you were 7 years of age? Provide one example of a way you have changed and one example of a way you have remained the same since you were 7 years of age. Link: https://www.kanopy.com/en/sjsu/video/129716
