Each graduate student in the hypothetical “Teaching in Nursing” course is required to grade a
senior student evidence-based paper related to a management issue on the assigned clinical unit.
As an instructor for this hypothetical course, you must co-grade the paper in order to evaluate the
“Teaching in Nursing” graduate student’s ability.
The senior students were provided the same grading form before they wrote their papers as you
will use to grade the paper. The assignment required the use of one theory and at least three
research articles to support the paper. There was no page limit for the senior assignment
Part 1: Identify and indicate problems, concerns, inaccuracies, etc. that you find in the paper.
Make notations/comments on the paper to highlight your evaluation for the student writer (3 pts)
Part 2: Complete the grading form with evaluative comments, and assigned points per section:
Introduction (1 pt)
Development of content (2 pts)
Impact on practice (1 pt)
Impact on unit (1 pt)
Application of theory, research (2 pts)
Summary (1 pt)
Adequacy of references (2 pts)
Composition, APA, etc (1 pt)
Provide any summary statement that you think is needed at the bottom of the grading form (1 pt)
This individual assignment is worth a total of 15 possible points. Points for grading are indicated
above.
To Submit Part 1 of this individual assignment: you will submit the graded paper with your
comments on the sample paper to the “Written Paper Grading Assignment: Part 1” section
To Submit Part 2 of this individual assignment: you will submit your completed grading
form to the “Written Paper Grading Assignment: Part 2” section under “Assignments”
