A Propoal and Annoted Bibliography
An annotated bibliography starts with a list of sources in either MLA (Links to an external site.) or Chicago (Links to an external site.) citation style. Each source has an explanation of
what the source is,
who or where it is from,
a summary of the information it contains, and
how it is useful to the project at hand.
The annotated bibliography must include at least five sources total with at least 2 primary sources and at least 2 secondary sources. You will likely need more than 5 sources for a solid research project, but these 5 will get you started.
Primary sources (Links to an external site.) are writings or objects from the time period, such as newspaper articles, books, journals, government reports, photographs and diaries.
Secondary sources (Links to an external site.) are more like things written or created after the time period. Secondary sources include history books, newspaper articles, government reports, encyclopedia entries, and other things that look back in time.
